Due to all the snow days we had the start date for the learn to skate series 2 has been pushed back 1 week. Saturday classes Now Begin February 27 and Monday Classes now begin March 1.

The Basic Skills program was developed by U.S. Figure Skating, the national, governing body of skating on ice in the United States. U.S. Figure Skating is a member of the International Skating Union (ISU) and a member of the United States Olympic Committee
The Gardens Sports US Figure Skating Learn to Skate Program, taught by The Chesapeake Skating School, has been formed to provide and fun, safe atmosphere for all students (Age 3 and above) to learn how to ice skate. The Tot and Basic 1-6 levels are geared towards the fundamentals of skating and develops the skills that are necessary for recreational, figure, ice hockey and speedskating. The Basic 7, Basic 8, and Freestyle levels develop the skills necessary
for advancement into figure skating.
The best program of its kind, the Basic Skills Program consists of a comprehensive lesson/test structure that is exciting, rewarding safe and fun. It has proven to be an overwhelming success across the United States.

On Alpha=Basic 3,4
On Beta=Basic 5,6
On Gamma=Basic 7,8
On Delta=sign up for Freestyle 1
All other Freestyle levels will be evaluated by an instructor.

- One 25 minute lesson weekly
- Free skate rental (when you come to the class)
- Six practice sessions. (to be used during the series, does not include skate rentals)
- USFS test badge upon completion of level
