The Gardens Sports US Figure Skating Learn to Skate Program, taught by The Chesapeake Skating School, has been formed to provide and fun, safe atmosphere for all students (Age 3 and above) to learn how to ice skate.

SFC Important Information:
- Camp Dates: 9 weekly sessions from June 21 – August 20
- Camp Hours: 8:30am to 5:30pm (camp begins at 9am and ends at 4:30pm
– Free before and after cares –
- Camp Age Groups: Rising 1st to 6th Graders (must be 6 years old)
- Camp Snack: OTA provides snack and juice boxes during our morning break. OTA provides popsicles at the end of the day.
- Camp Lunch: Campers should bring non-perishable lunches - Lunch may also be purchased at the Ice Breakers Café -
- Camp Handouts: Each Thursday of camp, participants are given an appreciation handout, some of which are Summer Camp T-Shirt, Water Bottles, Wrist Bands, etc
SFC Facts:
- Ice Skating: Campers will Ice Skate every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. What a great way to cool down from the summer heat!
- Swimming: Campers will Swim every Monday, Wednesday, Friday afternoon. Jumping in the pool and splashing around is what summer’s all about!
SFC Geography:
- Indoor: Camp Headquarters is in the Patrick Rink. This fantastic playing area accommodates all traditional sports and every game in the Overtime Athletics Curriculum. We also have a Summer Fun Camp Lunch Room, Activities Room, Locker Room, Café Area, Ice Skating Rink and the Fairland Swimming Pool.
- Outdoor: The Summer Fun Camp is fortunate to be held in a sprawling park with a variety of outdoor activities at our disposal including Soccer/Football Playing Fields, Playground Area, Nature Trail and Pond, Tennis Courts, and Picnic Terrace.
SFC Bells and Whistles:
- Day Segments:
- Monday Meeting – Campers discuss Theme’s including SPORTSMANSHIP, FITNESS, TEAMWORK, etc.
- Tuesday Task – Campers participate in group CREATIVITY PROJECTS
- Whatever Wednesday – Campers sign up for a variety of activities including BOARD GAME HOUR, PLAYGROUND TIME, BIG GAME SCRIMMAGE, etc.
- Thinking Thursday – Campers compete in mental challenges including PUZZLES, WORD SCRAMBLES, GEOPARDY, QUIZ-TASTICS, etc.
