There's Always Something Happening at The Gardens Ice House!

 

Welcome to The Gardens Ice House!

Located in the Fairland Regional Park near Laurel, Maryland, two miles from Interstate 95, The Gardens Ice House is the premier skating facility in the Mid-Atlantic region. Some of the highlights include:

  • Three rinks: 1 olympic size (200' x 100') and 2 NHL Size (200' x 85'). Logsdon Pavillion includes retractable walls for 'pond' skating. Patrick Rink and Exhibition Center boasts more than 1,500 person seating capacity.
  • Five private rooms of varying sizes designed to accomodate small to large private parties, corporate meetings, company get-togethers etc.
  • Independent full gym (Wellness for Life), pro shop (For Sports) and cafe with trained staffs as well as a video game arcade.
  • Home to five youth hockey programs, several youth leagues as well as numerous high school teams, with the Maryland Scholastic High School Championship - an annual tradition. TGIH is also home to the Mid Atlantic Skating School and the Gardens Figure Skating Club as well as the Potomac Curling Club in the National Capital Curling Center.

Pivotal Hockey’s “Power Hour” is a weekly session geared towards improving every hockey player’s skating skills.  The “Power Hour” emphasizes crucial aspects of skating such as speed, strength, balance and agility that will give you the edge over your competition.  Pivotal Hockey provides an experienced instructional staff with a wealth of power skating knowledge.

Tony is a former professional player with 12 years of coaching to his credit at various levels, including 5 Professionally.  Tony has also worked at the College and Junior A levels in Canada and he has been instrumental in discovering and developing local talent while coaching top players in the area. Tony currently serves as the Head Hockey Coach at DeMatha Catholic High School.

Summer School Added

The Augsburg Academy which is located at the Gardens Ice House and is currently doubling its size has just announced it will offer a full-day summer program in conjunction with Overtime Athletics. For five weeks this summer children ages 4 through 9 th grade can receive academic enrichment in the morning and then recreational activities in the afternoon. The child has a full day of learning and joy being challenged both mentally and physically.

Floor Hockey League Coming To The Gardens Ice House

Starting April 10th we will hosting a floor hockey league- ten (10) weeks for $60 per player. All you need is a helmet and a stick and sneakers. We do suggest elbow pads and soccer shin guards but those last two items aren't required. Come as a team (7 players) or as an individual- any age, male or female. This is a great way to get exercise and to learn the game of hockey either on the ice or inline.

Sign up at the Guest Services. Games will be Friday and Monday nights from 6:00 to 8:00 PM cross rink on the Patrick Rink.
